In this crazy journey of life with its frenetic fast paced cycle of full time work and adulting, it helps to have a light at the end of the tunnel.
My ‘light at the end of the tunnel’ is to have an upcoming holiday on the horizon! Whether its a weekend away, a week off interstate or a large, long overseas trip – I love the idea of working towards and counting down to the next adventure.
I am currently only a few weeks away from ‘my next overseas adventure’ in May – two weeks with my bestie travel buddies in Singapore, Indonesia and Taiwan!
It’s been ten years since I was in Singapore, the last stop on a two week G Adventures tour where I was travelling solo. Now I return for a sneaky 4 days and the purpose of our trip – a Blackpink concert! After that we hop on a ferry over to Batam, one of Indonesia’s islands for 3 days of poolside resort relaxing and day spas. Then it’s onto a flight to Taipei for 4 days in a new country and city – number 46 for me!
Here’s me the last time I was in Singapore, taking in the views from the rooftop bar of Marina Bay Sands.
We spent a lot of time around the harbour, taking in the views, day and night.
We just loved the Gardens by the Bay complex, especially the cloud forest! I can’t wait to see how much it has changed in ten years.
I’m currently busy messaging my overseas buddies to sort out all the details and searching the internet for popular and quirky things to do. Sometimes I love the planning and anticipation more than the trip! Just kidding, not as much as that, but I do enjoy the planning stage of travelling.
And if that wasn’t enough, I then have a sneaky 4 days in Auckland, New Zealand booked – to see another overseas friend. I haven’t been to Auckland since 2015 and haven’t seen my friend since 2018, so this is a well overdue visit!
