January is my holiday month! Nearly all of the month on holidays… perfect time for relaxing, trips away, beach days and rest. As seen below!

BEACH TRIPS
I spent many of my days off walking down to the beach and relaxing in the sun, swimming in the ocean and walking along the shore. I really feel that the ocean and the beach reenergises me and makes me calm. The beach I visited the most was Bilgola Beach, on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, but there are so many beaches to visit in Sydney!
WESTERN SAMOA
My first trip for 2018! A week in Samoa with a friend. It was the wet season so I was expecting a lot of rain, but we actually had so much sun! We divided our time between the islands of Upolu and Savai’i. More posts to come… but let’s just say this little Pacific island nation has so much to offer!

MINI GOLF
We had a few mini golf games in January… it’s our physical activity of choice when it’s hot and you don’t feel like being physical!
Love the water features and caves that make mini golf more interesting!
SUNSETS
Being on holidays means you have more time… I seem to catch (or chase) more sunsets, like this beauty from Bilgola Head lookout, looking south towards Sydney.
PARK HOUSE AT MONA VALE
I finally got to visit the recently renovated and re-branded Mona Vale Hotel, which has opened as funky, northern beaches bar and restaurant “Parkhouse Food & Liquor”. Although we will miss the non pretentious, cheap steak venue that was the old Mona Vale Hotel, I did enjoy the vibe at the new Parkhouse. See below for photos of the back bar.
BOYS TO MEN AND TLC CONCERT.
Ended the month at a classic concert – Boys to Men (well the 3 members who remain in the band) and TLC (Minus Lisa ‘Left-eye’ Lopez, RIP). What a cool concert and awesome seats! Loved grooving out to nineties tunes in the Showroom venue of The Star, casino complex of Sydney. Great mid week fun! Albeit a little late for a school night…
So many more great concerts to look forward to in 2018!
So that was January! Back to work on the 29th, so summer fun will be limited next month. Hope everyone enjoyed their January!
